Trekforce is trusted by thousands of people to take them safely to remote locations and live with local people, to provide safety, security and logistics staff for film and TV work, including Ben Fogle’s Extreme Dreams and Jack Osborne’s Adrenalin Junkie. The Expedition Leader Programme provides you with the first step into this exciting world.

The Trekforce Expedition Leader Training (ELT) programme is unique and open to anyone. It is a four month programme combining legal, safety and Mountain Leader Board training in the UK with actual leading overseas.
Phase 1 Wales.
You learn core skills - how to complete industry standard risk assessments, the correct safety standards, child protection, CRB check, as well as your hard skills.
Phase 2 Wales.
A week of Mountain Leader Training. You learn how to lead, plan and undertake a mountain trek (ML summer). Also additional First Aid training. Then your first Assessment and Feedback session.
Phase 3 Belize.
We move up a stage now, building on your basic practical skills and theory. First is level 1 jungle training. Over a week with an Army instructor, learning how to navigate and live in the jungle. Our Expedition Medic will train you on Expedition Medicine.
Phase 4 Jungle Trek.
It is now more testing, we watch and assess you as you trek into the jungle, river crossings, night navigation, solo nights alone in the jungle, health and hygiene are all tested.
Phase 5 Advanced Training.
We combine more office based budget and logistics training with evacuation and emergency planning. Host partner liaising. Civil interaction. 4 x 4 drving. Then advanced jungle skills including animal trapping, helicopter evacuation and co ordination with the army.
Phase 6 Expedition Leading.
This is when the training is tested to breaking point. Scenarios to test you! How can you cope leading an actual expedition. How doe you react in an emergancy? Our instructors are not here to help you but test you - are you good enough?
